TENT CRUSADES

It was all about souls as Living Waters Kingdom Ministries (LWKM) held the first in a series of Crusades in New Providence from April 18 through April 22, 2011 on Windsor Park. A total of 162 souls were saved with others rededicating their lives to the Lord. Hundreds gathered for the nightly meetings held under what was dubbed The Glory Tent. The theme for the week, ‘There is hope; you shall live,’ was based on Ezekiel chapter 37, the account of the dry bones coming to life. Setting the stage for the week, Senior Pastor of LWKM, Apostle Raymond Wells, who stressed that the crusade was about the salvation of people and not about LWKM. It stemmed from an earlier call he made for the Church to come out of its four walls and go into the community in order to make a greater impact in the country. He was determined to see a united front with involvement from churches within the area and this was materialized. Speakers for the week included Bishop Walter Hanchell, founder of Great Commission Ministries; Rev. Henry Higgins of Creative Arts Church; and Bishop Andrew Brown of Church of God.
The crusade did not only provide spiritual food for the attendees. Food and clothes were distributed free of charge to the less fortunate in the area. It is believed that the crusade is the first public event to be held on Windsor Park in 10 years. Apostle Wells said God has given LWKM a platform and members can’t play with it. He said God has placed Living Waters Kingdom Ministries in the heart of the capital so that living waters can flow throughout the city.
It should be noted that during this week there were no murders committed in that area. Sadly, just a few days after the tent was dismantled, there were two acts of murder committed there.

In June, progressing with the mandate to reap the bountiful harvest, LWKM pitched the tent on Carmichael Road, in the vicinity of Munroe’s Landscaping. The theme of HOPE was maintained and Apostle Wells issued a clarion call to the nation. He shared a vision of the end times and how God had allowed him to see the impending peril should we not return to being a nation that truly lived by Christian principles.
There was another influx of converts and individuals seeking to rededicate their lives to God during this week.

Come October, ‘The Glory Tent’ will be erected again as the plan to reach the city continues. In the future this tent is likely to be taken to the family islands as well.
